Life with your dog should be easy and enjoyable, but sometimes everyday situations can feel more challenging than they should. This program will give you the skills, confidence, and support to help your dog become a better listener and a more reliable companion.
Your dog is learning from every interaction and experience, and the habits you build together can make everyday life easier. This three-session program gives us time to focus on the manners and life skills that matter most to you, build reliable responses, and help your dog make good choices in everyday situations.
Everyday Skills - Strengthen skills such as sit, down, come, wait, and stay so your dog knows what you are asking.
Polite Behavior - Practice appropriate greetings, calm behavior around people, and other manners that make your dog easier to live with.
Clear Cues - Practice verbal cues and hand signals so you can communicate clearly with your dog.
Impulse Control - Build your dog’s ability to pause and think before reacting, using skills such as Leave It and Stay.
Listening Skills - Practice responding to cues and staying connected with you during normal daily routines.
Everyday Challenges - Work through common situations that can make good manners harder, helping your dog learn what you want them to do instead.
Whether you have a newly adopted dog who is still learning the basics or an older dog whose manners need some work, this program can help. The goal is for you to build stronger communication with your dog and develop reliable skills you can count on in everyday life. These sessions can also help you prepare for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test.
The Manners Program is for dogs 7 months and older who have already worked with me through private training or group classes.
Never worked with me before? Start with a First Session so I can get to know you and your dog and establish a clear direction for your training.
We can meet in the comfort of your own home, where we can work on the skills you need in your everyday environment. Other options include meeting at my training facility or a nearby public location.
Appointments are available during the day, evenings, and weekends. If you choose to meet at my training facility, please select an appointment on weekdays 6:30 p.m. or later, Saturdays 2 p.m or later, or anytime on Sundays.
My travel radius is within 10 miles of Downingtown Borough Hall (4 West Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335). Training beyond this area may still be available, but an additional travel fee may apply.
With your Manners Program, you will receive:

Practical things to work on between sessions so you can keep building your dog’s skills.
