You and your dog have built a foundation. Now you are ready for more. This program will help you strengthen your dog’s skills, work through distractions, and build the confidence to take your training beyond the basics.
Your dog may listen attentively at home but struggle when the world gets more exciting. This three-session program gives us the opportunity to build distance, duration, and distractions into the skills your dog already knows, helping them become more reliable in new places and everyday situations. The goal is to help you and your dog become a more confident, capable team wherever life takes you.
Distance & Duration - Strengthen your dog’s ability to respond when you are farther away, ask them to wait longer, or are temporarily out of sight.
Distractions - Practice staying focused and responding to you when something more exciting is happening.
Public Practice - Work on walking, listening, and staying connected around people, dogs, and everyday distractions.
New Environments - Help your dog become more comfortable and confident navigating places that are unfamiliar to them.
Everyday Adventures - Practice skills in public spaces and around the types of distractions you and your dog are likely to encounter.
Problem Solving - Learn how to adjust your approach, help your dog work through challenges, and keep moving forward when things do not go as planned.
If your dog has a solid foundation and you are ready to take your training further, this program can help. The goal is for you to build on the skills you already have, strengthen your communication, and develop more reliable responses around distance, duration, and distractions. These sessions can also help you prepare for the AKC Community Canine (CGCA) and Urban Canine Good Citizen (CGCU) tests.
The Next Level Program is for dogs 7 months and older who have already worked with me through private training or group classes and have completed the Manners Program or similar training experience.
Never worked with me before? Start with a First Session so I can get to know you and your dog and establish a clear direction for your training.
We can meet in the comfort of your own home, at my training facility, or take training on the road. Sessions can be held in parks, public buildings, or other outdoor locations to practice skills around new environments and distractions to help your dog become more confident and reliable in the real world.
Appointments are available during the day, evenings, and weekends. If you choose to meet at my training facility, please select an appointment on weekdays 6:30 p.m. or later, Saturdays 2 p.m or later, or anytime on Sundays.
My travel radius is within 10 miles of Downingtown Borough Hall (4 West Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335). Training beyond this area may still be available, but an additional travel fee may apply.
