Step 1 - Home Manners - Teach your dog the skills most needed in and around the house.
Everyday life with your dog should be enjoyable, not a constant battle. Essential Life Skills gives you the tools, confidence, and support to build reliable obedience and better manners for everyday life.
This comprehensive course focuses on the foundational skills your dog needs in and around the home. You will learn how to communicate clearly, reinforce good choices, and build reliability so your dog can respond to you in a variety of everyday situations.
Together, we will work on:
Sit, down, stay, and recall
Building distance and duration into basic commands
Loose-leash walking skills
Polite greetings and everyday manners
Grooming and handling skills
Brief separations and building independence
Clear communication using hand signals and release cues
Essential Life Skills follows the AKC Canine Good Citizen program. For students that would like to take the CGC test, they can come back on any scheduled testing dates and the evaluator's fee will be waived.
