Step 2 - Neighborhood Areas - Practice expanding those skills and also transition to outdoor environments.
Your dog knows the basics. Now it is time to make those skills more reliable when the world around you gets a little more distracting.
Neighborhood Prep builds on the skills your dog already knows at home and helps you bridge that gap in other environments so you can enjoy more activities together. We will add distance, duration, and distractions while helping your dog learn to stay focused and respond to you when there is more going on around them.
Together, we’ll work on:
Building distance and duration into your dog’s existing skills
Improving focus and responsiveness around distractions
Practicing reliable recalls and stays
Strengthening loose-leash walking and attention
Working around people, dogs, and other environmental distractions
Learning how to transfer training from the classroom to outdoor environments
Building your confidence handling your dog in real-world situations
